Babington Road Streatham incident: Man dies - Sutton & Croydon Guardian

The incident happened in Babington Road shortly after 1pm today (March 2).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

His family has been informed.

The man’s death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.

Multiple emergency vehicles were spotted in Babington Road at around 1pm today (March 2)

Pictures from the scene show two police cars and several ambulances dealing with an incident.

The nature of the incident is currently unknown.

We have contacted Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service for further information.

Glenister Park Road Streatham fire: Pair charged with murder - Sutton & Croydon Guardian

Mayara Loiola Ataide, 34, and Gevaldo Tavares Dos Santos, 46, both of no fixed address, are accused of the murder of Dos Santos Antonio on February 25.

The pair are also charged with two counts of arson with intent to endanger life.

The blaze broke out at a house that is divided into bedsits in Glenister Park Road, Streatham, shortly after 7pm.

Loiola Ataide and Dos Santos appeared by videolink at the Old Bailey on Friday.

The court heard the flat was owned by a former landlord of Loiola Ataide and Dos Santos, and that Dos Santos Antonio was a tenant.

Mayara Loiola Ataide, 34, and Gevaldo Tavares Dos Santos, 46, both of no fixed address, will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court later on Wednesday.

They are also charged with two counts of arson with intent to endanger life.

The blaze broke out at a house that is divided into bedsits in Glenister Park Road, Streatham, shortly after 7pm on Sunday.

The 49-year-old man was found dead inside.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers, the Metropolitan Police said.

Firefighters were called to a multi-occupancy house in Glenister Park Road shortly after 7pm on Sunday, February 25.

A 49-year-old man was found dead inside the property.

Police have said that the fire is thought to have been started deliberately and is being treated as suspicious.

Further enquiries are taking place.

On Monday, February 26, a woman, 34, was arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

She remains in custody at a south London police station.

A 49-year-old was found dead inside a house on Glenister Park Road shortly after 7pm on Sunday, February 25.

On Monday (February 26) a 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

The Metropolitan Police said a second person, a 47-year-old man, has also been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Both remain in police custody.

Police have said that the fire is thought to have been started deliberately and is being treated as suspicious.

No arrests after moped stolen from Streatham home

No arrests after moped stolen from Streatham home - Sutton & Croydon Guardian

Police were called just before 4am today (February 18) to reports of a moped stolen.

The incident happened outside a residential address in Briar Avenue.

There has been no arrests at this stage.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 03:51hrs on 18 February to reports of a moped stolen from outside a residential address in Briar Avenue SW16.

“There have been no arrests.”
