Chris Kaba, a 24 year old Black man, was fatally shot by Martyn Blake, a firearms officer from the Metropolitan Police on 5 September 2022 in Streatham, London. Chris Kaba: Family to hold vigil marking three years since fatal shooting Submitted by daniel on Tue, 02/09/2025 - 15:02 Picture THE FAMILY of Chris Kaka are set to hold a vigil this week marking three years since the fatal shooting. Metropolitan Police firearms officer, Martyn Blake, fatally shot Mr Kaba during a police stop, but was later found not guilty of murder at a high-profile trial at the Old Bailey in October 2024. Met told to hold misconduct hearing for firearms officer who shot Chris Kaba Submitted by daniel on Thu, 01/05/2025 - 12:15 Picture THE INDEPENDENT Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has directed the Met Police to hold a disciplinary hearing for a firearms officer who shot Chris Kaba. NX121 was unanimously acquitted of the murder of Mr Kaba following an Old Bailey trial in October 2024. In March 2024, firearms officer NX121 was named as Martyn Blake following a judge’s decision to lift an anonymity order – which prevented his identity from being revealed. Mr Kaba, 24, died in September 2022 in Streatham, south London, after a single gunshot wound sustained during a Met operation.
