Inspired at a personal and professional level, Shivani Patel joined family and friends to raise £10,000 for cancer research during The Banham Marsden March.

Starting at The Royal Marsden NHS FT in Chelsea, the 15-mile march took in Fulham, Putney, Wimbledon and Cheam, finishing at The Royal Marsden Sutton based in Surrey. Family friendly options at the five-mile mark were available to encourage as wide a range of supporters as possible.

A local school is celebrating national success as Nathan Scarlett, executive chef at Henry Cavendish Primary School in Balham and Streatham, has been named Chef Champion at this year’s Jamie Oliver Good School Food Awards.

The minibus will allow less privileged local children to attend events and enjoy days out in the area.

It comes after various people working on the project took on sponsored challenges to raise money and awareness for Variety Golf (a division of Variety - The Children’s Charity).

“It is amazing to have played our part in funding this important community resource,” said Ziggy Seagroatt, owner of LDD Construction, who came up with the idea.

“Everyone across the site has been involved in fundraising, showing an incredible commitment to such an important cause.
