It comes after various people working on the project took on sponsored challenges to raise money and awareness for Variety Golf (a division of Variety - The Children’s Charity). “It is amazing to have played our part in funding this important community resource,” said Ziggy Seagroatt, owner of LDD Construction, who came up with the idea. “Everyone across the site has been involved in fundraising, showing an incredible commitment to such an important cause. “We look forward to hearing more about the adventures the children will have thanks to the bus.” David Howell, operations director at Overbury, added: “I was absolutely delighted to see such passion and generosity from the team. “The fact that this was entirely driven by the subcontractors shows the power of collaboration and how construction can have a real and lasting impact on local communities. “It’s something everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.” Tracing its history back to 1946, Streatham Youth and Community Trust supports children, young people and vulnerable adults from its three centres in the district. “We are hugely grateful to Overbury, LDD Construction and all the subcontractors who have contributed to this amazing new Sunshine Coach,” said Jamie Little from Variety Golf. “The Sunshine Coach will play a huge role in helping transform the lives of young people across Streatham, ensuring everyone in the area has the opportunity to reach their full potential. “We look forward to all the great trips this generous donation will enable and the doors it will help open.” You can find out more about Streatham Youth and Community Trust and its services on their website.
