Not really a porch but kind of... The two arched openings with the fan-shaped carving inside are shell hoods (sometimes called scallop or scallop-shell hoods). This is a signature Baroque revival / Queen Anne motif; a carved half-dome resembling a scallop shell set over a door or niche. They were hugely popular on English domestic architecture from the late 17th century onward and revived heavily during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras (c. 1880s–1910s). This is a rare unpainted example.
