Passengers travelling into London face disruption on some lines this weekend due to planned engineering works.

Several lines have been closed which are set to impact Southern rail services on Saturday and Sunday.

Some services will not run while others will be diverted, with journey times expected to increase.

Saturday and Sunday (September 12 and 13):

Andy Burnham has been told he “can’t make the rest of the country richer by making London poorer” by a staunch ally of Sir Keir Starmer.

Steve Reed, the former housing secretary, warned Mr Burnham that people in the South and Midlands were concerned that “Manchesterism is ‘anti-London’”.

Mr Reed, MP for Streatham and Croydon North, was sacked by Mr Burnham when he ascended to No 10.
