A Streatham man has been returned to prison after he was caught exposing himself and masturbating on a train just 12 days after being released from a previous jail sentence for the same crime.

James Gathercole, 40, and of Leigham Court Road, has been jailed for two years and four months.

He was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on 2nd February having pleaded guilty to two counts of Exposure, as well as being in breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and the conditions of his prison release licence.

A murder investigation is under way following the death of a man in a house fire in Streatham.

Police were called to the multi-occupancy house in Glenister Park Road by the London Fire Brigade at 19:07 on Sunday 25th February.

A 49-year-old man was found dead inside the property.

Police say his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers.

The fire is thought to have been started deliberately and is being treated as suspicious. Further enquiries are taking place.
