The people of Streatham clearly recognise this — because in May, Streatham Common Kite Day returns for its 23rd innings. Here, you can watch all manner of kites flown by enthusiasts from across the world — from tiny crafts, to a life-sized blue whale kite measuring 30 metres in length. Some teams fly dancing kites synchronised with music, and we're promised an appearance by the Flying Fish — a husband and wife double act who were previously UK National Champions.
