Opposition from residents who live in flats above Hybrid Bar and Restaurant in Streatham High Street wasn’t enough to stop Lambeth council from giving it permission to open late seven days a week at a meeting on Tuesday. The bar, which has room for 69 people, will be allowed to serve booze to customers until 11pm and open until 11:30pm on weekends under the new licence. The Taurus self-loading pistol was intercepted and seized by Border Force officers at Stansted Airport on July 27, 2023. The South Londoners have been in good form on home ice having won nine straight games at the High Road. Oxford have not had much to celebrate on previous visits and in a season where they have only won four matches and lost 20, indicated it would be an uphill battle for the Stars. Four from South London charged after mobile phone shop raid at Brent Cross shopping centre Submitted by daniel on Tue, 07/01/2025 - 14:47 Picture Image Five teenage boys have been charged with robbery following the theft of a large number of mobile phones. Mycah Omo-Idahosa, 18, of Lothian Road, Lambeth, is due to appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today, with three others from South London also set for court appearances. Two 15-year-old boys from Lambeth, a 14-year-old boy from Croydon and a 16-year-old boy from Cambridge have also been charged with robbery and will appear at the same court today. Streatham boy undergoes robotic surgery in first for London hospitals Submitted by daniel on Fri, 03/01/2025 - 13:03 Picture Image A seven-year-old boy has become the first child in London to undergo an operation using a surgical robotic system, which surgeons describe as “revolutionary”. Rufus Quinn, from Streatham, had a robotic assisted pyeloplasty, a procedure to correct a blockage between the kidney and the bladder, at the Evelina Children’s Hospital in Westminster Bridge Road, Lambeth. The condition affects around one in 1,500 children and if not treated by surgery, can cause pain and increase the risk of infection and deterioration of kidney function. The Brixton Hill LTN was introduced in September 2023 through an Experimental Traffic Order, which the council now wants to replace with a new permanent traffic order. The experimental scheme used traffic filters to restrict certain vehicles from entering the LTN, while ensuring all premises remain accessible by motor vehicles.
