Headlining the evening will be MOBO Award-winning gospel singer Lurine Cato, one of the UK’s leading gospel voices, joined by a 40-piece orchestra, live gospel band and the College of Gospel Choir, under the direction of Choirmaster Lascelles Haughton. Gospel Orchestrated celebrates gospel as a living musical tradition — rooted in faith, migration, resistance and joy, and continually reshaped across African, Caribbean, British and American cultures. Expect classic gospel, contemporary sounds and new music, with massed voices meeting strings, brass, woodwind and a live band in true Brixton Chamber Orchestra style. At the centre of it all is the extraordinary power of gospel singing: communal, uplifting, rhythmically charged and made to be experienced live. Presented as part of Streatham Festival 2026, this is set to be a big, joyful celebration of one of the world’s most influential musical traditions.
