Victoria Police said that the vehicles collided shortly after 9:30am at the intersection of Mount William Road and Eurambeen-Streatham Road, about 45 minutes west of Ballarat. Police said the car appeared to have rolled and been crushed. A second adult, who was trapped in the vehicle, has life-threatening injuries and is expected to be flown to hospital. The truck driver is understood to have escaped with minor injuries. At least eight police officers, including members of the Major Collision Investigation Unit, are at the scene. The crushed car has been covered with a red tarpaulin. The truck remains near the car, with significant damage to its front end. The area has been cordoned off, and the surrounding roads are blocked while police and emergency service personnel respond to the scene. Police are expected to provide an update about 3:00 pm.
