Description

The Brixton Windmill scene favourite delivers a cathartic collision of synth-disco, house beats and brutally honest late-night introspection — before hitting the road with Fat Dog next month.

Pink Eye Club is back with (EDM) Emotional Dance Music, a new album that puts raw feelings firmly on the dancefloor. Out now, the record arrives alongside standout single ‘Disco Is My Religion’, a celebratory ode to club culture from one of South London’s most enduring DIY music figures.

The project is the work of Haydn Davies, the Streatham-based musician and self-described “one-man disco machine” whose sound fuses ’80s synth-disco, Ibiza-ready house rhythms and unfiltered lyrics. Across nine tracks, Pink Eye Club tackles grief, fear, love, paranoia and gratitude with the kind of emotional abandon that makes dancing feel less like an escape and more like a release.

Leading the charge, ‘Disco Is My Religion’ doubles as an origin story for Davies’ lifelong devotion to the dancefloor. Reflecting on his first night at Fabric, he explains: “I realised that night how important it is to dance together and that there’s no greater feeling than being on a dance floor.”

That communal spirit runs through the album, balancing pumping basslines and euphoric synths with candid inner monologues. Tracks including ‘Cocaine Friends’, ‘Paranoid’ and ‘Trust The Process’ hint at the messier side of life, while the record’s dancefloor-ready production keeps pushing towards connection and catharsis.

Beyond the music, Pink Eye Club has become a fixture of the Brixton Windmill community, a grassroots scene that has helped launch some of the UK’s most exciting alternative acts. Over nearly a decade, Davies has shared stages with artists including Fat White Family, Honeyglaze, Night Tapes, DEADLETTER and Tapir!, while also championing emerging talent as a promoter. He even booked Fat Dog for their first-ever live show — making his upcoming support slot with the band in Copenhagen a full-circle moment.

The album launch continues with shows at The George Tavern on 24 October and The Windmill on 25 October, before Pink Eye Club heads to Copenhagen to support Fat Dog on 7 November. A full-band headline show at London’s Lexington follows on 20 November.

With (EDM) Emotional Dance Music, Pink Eye Club makes a compelling case for the dancefloor as a place to feel everything — loudly, honestly and together.
