Southern and London Overground severely disrupted

Southern and London Overground trains will be severely disrupted this weekend.

This is due to planned engineering works on various routes.

The disruption will affect routes between East Croydon, Clapham Junction, and Watford Junction, as well as Southern services between London Victoria, Oxted, East Grinstead, London Bridge, East Croydon, and Uckfield.

Some lines will be closed, and trains will be replaced by buses, with some services operating on amended timetables.

The engineering works will also mean that from approximately 8pm on Saturday, August 2, until the end of the service, and from the start of the service until 12pm on Sunday, August 3, no Southern trains will run between Shepherd's Bush and Watford Junction.

People travelling during these times are advised to use alternative London Overground trains between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction or Southern trains between Clapham Junction and London Victoria, the London Underground between London Victoria and London Euston, and London Northwestern Railway or London Overground services between Euston and Watford Junction.

National Rail tickets will be accepted on the London Northwestern Railway between Euston and Watford Junction.

Paper tickets will also be accepted on the London Underground and London Overground after 7pm on Saturday and until 1pm on Sunday.

This includes the Victoria line between Victoria and Euston, the Circle and Central line between Victoria and Shepherd's Bush, the District line between Victoria and West Brompton, the Bakerloo line between Oxford Circus and Harrow & Wealdstone, the Mildmay line between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction, and the Lioness line between Euston and Watford Junction.

Journey times will be increased when using alternative routes.

People travelling in the Oxted area will also face disruptions.

From approximately 11.30pm on Saturday until the end of the service, buses will replace trains between Oxted and East Grinstead and between Oxted and Uckfield.

Until approximately 8.30am on Sunday, buses will replace trains between East Croydon and East Grinstead.

The 8.17am East Croydon to Uckfield train on Sunday will depart later at 8.26am, calling additionally at Riddlesdown, Upper Warlingham, and Woldingham and running later at stations to Uckfield.

In the Streatham area, all day on Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains between Streatham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction.

These buses will also call at Streatham Common.

Trains between London Victoria and Horsham on Saturday and Dorking on Sunday will be diverted between Sutton and Balham, running via an alternative route, and will run to an amended timetable with extended journey times.

Some trains running between London Victoria and Brighton will call additionally at Streatham Common on Sunday.

Journey times will be increased when using replacement buses.

No Thameslink trains will run between Streatham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction.

Trains will run to an amended timetable between Luton, St Albans, Herne Hill, and Sutton via Wimbledon.

For people travelling to or from stations between Streatham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction, tickets will be accepted on Southern rail replacement buses.
