Southern and Thameslink have announced that no trains will run between St Albans City and Sutton (London) via Mitcham Junction on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27. This is due to engineering work taking place between Streatham (Greater London) and Mitcham Junction, closing all lines. On Saturday, Southern will replace trains with buses between Streatham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction, which will also call at Streatham Common. Trains between London Victoria and Dorking / Horsham will be diverted between Sutton and Balham, running via an alternative route, and will operate on an amended timetable with extended journey times. On Sunday, buses will replace trains between Streatham and Sutton / Epsom via Mitcham Junction, and also between West Croydon and Epsom Downs. Dorking route trains will only run between Epsom and Dorking, while Epsom Downs route trains will only run between London Victoria and West Croydon. Thameslink passengers will face a complete halt of services between St Albans City and Sutton (London) via Mitcham Junction all weekend. On Sunday, trains between Luton and Sutton (London) via Wimbledon will only run between Luton and Wimbledon. Passengers are advised to use their tickets at no extra cost on London Bus services between Streatham (Greater London) and Sutton (London) via Mitcham Junction, on London Tram services between Wimbledon and East Croydon, and on London Underground services between Kentish Town and Morden. Morden is a short distance from Sutton (London). There will also be no trains between Shepherd's Bush and Watford Junction after 8pm on Saturday, July 26 and between East Croydon and Watford Junction all day Sunday, July 27. From 8pm on Saturday, no Southern trains will run between Shepherd's Bush and Watford Junction. On Saturday evening only, passengers can use alternative London Overground (Mildmay Line) trains between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction at no extra cost. All day on Sunday, no Southern trains will run between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction. Passengers are advised to use Southern trains between Clapham Junction and London Victoria, London Underground services between Victoria and Euston, and London Northwestern / London Overground trains between London Euston and Watford Junction. Paper ticket acceptance will be in place on London Underground and London Overground trains after 7pm on Saturday and all day Sunday. There will be amended services on the 7.30am Southampton Central to Brighton service on Sunday, July 27 due to engineering work between Southampton Central and Havant. The train will start from Havant at 8.10am. A replacement bus will depart earlier from Southampton Central at 6.46am to meet the train at Havant. Buses will replace early morning and late night trains between Three Bridges and Brighton on Sunday, July 27 due to engineering work taking place late night Saturday / early morning Sunday and again late night Sunday between Three Bridges and Brighton, closing some lines. From approximately 1.15am until approximately 8.30am on Sunday morning and then from approximately 11.30pm until the end of service on Sunday evening, buses will replace trains between Three Bridges and Brighton / Lewes / Eastbourne / Worthing. A spokesperson for Southern and Thameslink said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience while these essential engineering works take place.
