Description

All properties in Croydon and Streatham affected by the broken pipe should now have water back in their taps, according to Thames Water.

The pipe, located on Commonside East, CR4, caused homes in CR0, CR2, CR4, CR7, and SW16 to experience no water or low pressure over the past two days.

Thames Water said the leak has been stopped and excess water drained.

The water company successfully rerouted water from other pipes to restore supply.

An excavation is underway to fix the damaged pipe.

Thames Water warned that water pressure may still be lower than usual during peak times.

This should improve once the repair is complete.

A lane restriction remains in place on Commonside East.

This is to keep both workers and the public safe while repairs continue.

Thames Water said this may affect traffic in the area.

A spokesperson for Thames Water said: "To keep you and our teams safe, we've arranged equipment to help manage the traffic while we work in the road.

"Please allow extra time should you be travelling in the area.

"As soon as it is safe to do so, we will remove the traffic management, there is a lane restriction in place.

"We're sorry for the impact this may have on traffic."
