At the time, his death was not believed to be suspicious. However new information then came to light, which led to a murder investigation being launched. David Souttar, 22, of Chelsham Road in Clapham, was charged with murder last Thursday (October 23) after being arrested on October 16. He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court the day after (October 24), where he was remanded into custody. Souttar will next appear on Tuesday (October 28) at the Old Bailey. Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, who leads policing in Lambeth said: “Detectives from the Met continue to investigate Robert’s sad death earlier this year. “I understand that this update may be a concern to those in the local area, please do speak with your local neighbourhood team who are there to support you. “We would also like to ask the public for help, as we have been unable to identify Robert’s next of kin. If you knew Robert, or are a family member then please do come forward.” She added: “This is devastating news, which is why we would like to speak with you and offer our support. “The investigation and enquiries into the circumstances of Robert’s death remain ongoing.” Web Link Clapham man charged with murder after elderly man dies in Streatham - Wandswort… Wandsworth Times
