There is significant disruption to London train services on Monday following a trackside fire.

The fire broke out on Sunday near Clapham Junction and has damaged signalling equipment, according to National Rail.

It says Southern and Gatwick Express services in and out of London Victoria station are expected to be disrupted until 4pm.

More than 20 routes cancelled out of London Victoria

Several services departing from London Victoria have been cancelled.

Passengers travelling into London face disruption on some lines this weekend due to planned engineering works.

Several lines have been closed which are set to impact Southern rail services on Saturday and Sunday.

Some services will not run while others will be diverted, with journey times expected to increase.

Passengers have been advised to plan extra time for their journeys and to check before they travel.

Saturday and Sunday (September 12 and 13):

Senior Labour and Reform UK MPs tore into Sir James Cleverly after he quit the shadow Cabinet to run for Mayor of London.

The Housing Secretary published an updated National Planning Policy Framework which includes default approval for new homes within “reasonable walking distance” of well-connected Underground, rail and tram stations.

Reasonable walking distance is defined as 800 metres or around ten minutes.
