They’ll be onsite, spannered up and ready to crank some axles from noon to 3pm. If your bike needs help, just turn up and the Dr Bike team will be happy to attend to errant gear shifts, wobbly handlebars, broken brakes and more, and the service is absolutely free of charge. Brixton Library to close for two months in November while Streatham Library is to be refurbished Submitted by daniel on Mon, 13/11/2023 - 08:00 Picture Image Brixton Library and Streatham Library are undergoing refurbishment and improvement work as part of Lambeth Council’s commitment to invest in our public libraries which have more than a million visits each year. Brixton Library in Windrush Square will need to close for around two months, from 20 November until 30 January next year, so major work can be undertaken. The council has arranged for a temporary library to run at Brixton Recreation Centre in nearby Brixton Station Road to minimise the impact on local people. Lib Dems warned Lambeth Council twelve months ago – in their response to the authority’s Air Quality Action Plan – about the way LTNs are being introduced. They say Lambeth does not gather sufficient independent data on their efficacy and ignores residents within and around the affected zones.
