London residents have blocked council workers from implementing a controversial £650,000 street renovation plan on Amesbury Avenue in Streatham.
Local residents and business owners are opposing the scheme which would replace parking spaces with seating and planters.
Lambeth council has sparked controversy by targeting residents parking on their own driveways without official "dropped kerbs".
The south London authority is demanding homeowners pay £4,000 to make their driveways legal.

The Range has confirmed its second wave of store openings in former Homebase locations, with three new outlets set to launch on January 24.
Last year, the DIY giant fell into administration with various retailers purchasing locations earmarked for closure.
Store closures have become the norm in recent years in a blow to the high street economy. However, The Range is among the brands committed to having a physical shopping presence for consumers.
