Work on the next phase of improvements on the A23 Streatham Hill will begin at the end of the month, with temporary traffic restrictions in place while the scheme is delivered.

INSPIRED at a personal and professional level, Shivani Patel joined family and friends to raise £10,000 for cancer research during The Banham Marsden March.

Starting at The Royal Marsden NHS FT in Chelsea, the 15-mile march took in Fulham, Putney, Wimbledon and Cheam, finishing at The Royal Marsden Sutton based in Surrey. Family friendly options at the five-mile mark were available to encourage as wide a range of supporters as possible.

Tristan Walker-Buckton, 44, from Streatham, will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 12 April. Having run over a dozen marathons in his life, this will be his fourth time raising money for Independent Age, a national charity that supports older people living in financial hardship. Shrimp Shack – the sensational seafood restaurant in Streatham and Camden – has announced that over the Easter Holidays all kids can eat for free.

From Monday – Friday (Monday 30th March – Friday 3rd April, and then Monday 6th April to Friday 10th April ), any child up to the age of 12 will receive a kids meal for free, one per every paying adult.

On the kids menu, children can choose from Chicken Nuggets, Fish Fingers or Mac N Cheese Bites, all served with French fries.

Transport for London (TfL) is due to begin construction work in the coming weeks on a major new scheme to make A23 Streatham Hill safer and better for residents and visitors. The scheme, developed in close partnership with Lambeth Council, will create new pedestrian crossings, a protected cycling route and make improvements to pavements and bus lanes in the area, making it easier to walk, wheel, cycle and use public transport.

Ruach City Church has applied to Lambeth Council in south London to change the use of the 2,800 capacity Grade 2 listed Streatham Hill Theatre.

The three-week consultation period on the plan ends in just nine days’ time, on May 22.

Ruach, the new owners, moved in last June, since when they have been holding services there – all without planning permission.
