The plans would see the whole interior, walls and floors being demolished, and replaced by a smaller pub, with an extended ‘fake’ frontage being added. With no less than 117 ‘co-working’ residential units surrounding a drastically reduced pub, the chances of it continuing as a popular later night bar for the Latino community look very slim indeed. We encouraged readers to add their comments to the planning application, but with Lambeth’s planning portal constantly crashing, it looked like many people may end up without a voice. Brixton Buzz wrote to the new Green planning officer for Lambeth, Scott Ainslie, several times, urgently asking for the deadline for comments to be extended from the listed date of 18th June. Happily this has now been changed to the 14th July 2026. Register your comments now Brixton Buzz urges concerned locals and supporters of the pub, to register their comments and objections on the planning site. If the planning portal isn’t working, you can email your comments to [email protected] with the reference number 26/01394/FUL including your name and address.
