Hurricane Melissa: Lambeth Assembly Hall to open for donations on Sunday, 16th Nov 2025

Lambeth Council has announced that Lambeth Assembly Hall will open on Sunday, 16 November, to collect donations for communities affected by Hurricane Melissa.

The powerful storm caused severe destruction and tragic loss of life across Jamaica, prompting local efforts to support those in need.

Held in partnership with the Jamaica Homeless Charity Foundation, who are supporting the Official Jamaica Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund, the Hall will be open from 10am to 7pm.

Items most needed include clothes, shoes, personal hygiene products, baby essentials, formula, non-perishable food, and disposable nappies. All contributions will be sorted locally before being transported to Jamaica, where they are urgently needed.

The Government of Jamaica has launched an official disaster appeal.

Brixton Soup Kitchen have teamed up with Brixton Immortals Domino Club and The Remakery, together they are taking donations of non-perishable food, clothing and other items, such as electronics, as well as cash donations to support them to ship donations, via GoFundMe.
