We, the residents of Streatham, local business owners, and loyal customers, are deeply concerned by reports that the M&S Simply Food / Foodhall at 352 Streatham High Road (SW16 6HP) is planned for closure.

This branch is an essential anchor for our community. It provides vital access to high-quality fresh food, serves as a crucial Click & Collect hub for local residents, and employs dedicated local staff members.

While M&S operates a separate store on Streatham Hill, forcing residents—especially families, the elderly, and less mobile shoppers is completely impractical.

The new store in Tooting is not easy to access by public transport.

The Streatham High Road location serves a completely distinct catchment area that relies on its convenience and accessibility every single day.

The loss of this iconic flagship store will create a massive gap on our high street, devastating footfall and hurting neighbouring small businesses. High streets across the country are struggling, and losing our beloved M&S Simply Food will strip away a core pillar of our local community.

We urge M&S leadership to listen to their loyal customers, review the lease agreement, and commit to keeping the Streatham High Road branch open!
