Man Escapes During Supervised Shop Visit

Police are urgently searching for 46-year-old Menelik, who absconded from a secure hospital in Greenwich. He disappeared shortly after 1:20pm on Wednesday, 31 March, while on an escorted shopping trip near Deptford Docklands Light Railway Station.

Last Seen Boarding Bus to Lambeth

Eyewitnesses believe Menelik got on the number 53 bus heading towards Lambeth North. Officers are treating him as missing and growing increasingly concerned.

Height: 5ft 9in

Build: Medium

Clothing: Black jacket, black jogging bottoms, blue trainers

Known Areas: Streatham and Brixton

PC Luke Hill, leading the investigation, warned: “If seen, do not approach Menelik. Call 999 immediately. Anyone with information or who has had contact with him should ring the police straight away.”
