Southern engineering works affect late-night London services

Limited routes and cancellations are affecting journeys due to ongoing engineering works between London Victoria and Streatham Hill, which began earlier this week and are scheduled to continue through tonight, Thursday, February 5.

Services between London Victoria and Epsom Downs, as well as Watford Junction and East Croydon, are impacted.

Southern has issued a notice stating: "Engineering work is taking place overnight between London Victoria and Streatham Hill, closing some lines."

The 10.10pm service from East Croydon to Watford Junction will terminate early at Shepherd’s Bush on Monday to Thursday evenings.

The 11.42pm service from Watford Junction to Clapham Junction will not run.

The 11.07pm train from Epsom Downs to London Victoria will not stop at Battersea Park.

For passengers travelling to London Victoria, Southern advises taking the train to Clapham Junction and changing there for onward travel.

The 11.56pm service from London Victoria to Streatham Hill will terminate at Balham, with a replacement bus running from Balham to Streatham Hill.

Passengers are advised to check their journeys in advance and expect longer travel times on replacement buses.

Rail users are also encouraged to consider London Overground and London Northwestern Railway services as alternatives.
