Three residents escaped before firefighters arrived, while a fourth man was treated at the scene. A small blaze damaged part of the kitchen but was brought under control within an hour. The London Fire Brigade said the fire is believed to have been accidental and was caused by cooking being left unattended. Three people left the building before the LFB arrived, and a fourth man was treated by the London Ambulance Service. The fire was extinguished just under an hour later at 10.09pm. Two men in their 20s were found injured and were taken to hospital, where their conditions were confirmed to be neither life-threatening nor life-changing. They have since been discharged and remain in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of affray. A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and possession of a bladed article. Streatham Common Station has been reopened. Although it was not reported at the time, it was later captured on CCTV, which led police to be alerted the following day.
