We have broken down the details for you to plan ahead. Sunday (July 12): Engineering work is taking place between Balham and Norwood Junction, closing some lines. The 12.25am and 12.40am trains from London Victoria to Norwood Junction will terminate at Balham. Replacement buses will run between Balham and Norwood Junction at 12.50am and 1.04am. Mitcham Lane Streatham fire destroys roof after lightning Submitted by daniel on Sat, 27/06/2026 - 12:27 Picture Image Billowing smoke could be seen around Mitcham Lane, near the Furzedown Brasserie, this morning (June 27) after the strike at 4.17am. Lightning hit the roof of an end-of-terrace shop with homes above that were under construction. Approximately 17 people called the London Fire Brigade as crews were at the scene tackling the blaze. The roof was destroyed but there were no reports of any injuries. The fire was eventually under control by 6.24am. A 27-year-old man has injuries which have been assessed as life-threatening and a 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Ambulance crews arrived in less than five minutes and treated a patient for a head injury before taking them to a major trauma centre. We have broken down the full details for you to plan ahead. Monday to Thursday (June 22 to June 25): Engineering work is taking place overnight in the London Bridge area, closing some lines. The 11.02pm London Bridge to Selhurst train will depart later at 11.05pm and run later at all stations to Selhurst.
