Streatham High Road has been closed since early this afternoon following the incident.

Two people were trapped under scaffolding fell from Pratts and Payne.

The people were rescued by passers-by before being rushed to hospital by the ambulance service.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.30pm on Sunday 25 October to reports of an incident on Streatham High Road.

“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).

The A23 Streatham High Road is currently blocked between Shrubbery Road and Gleneldon Road, with traffic queueing in the area as a result.

According to traffic monitoring service INRIX, the closure is in place due to an unsafe building, with diversions operating around the affected section of road.

It is being reported on social media that scaffolding fell into the road as Storm Austen hit the capital with near-50mph winds over the weekend.

Emergency services are on the scene and and have closed the road while the situation is assessed.

While some consultations focus on bus priority measures and street improvements, others include major network changes, including the proposed withdrawal of one route and extensions or diversions to several others.

A number of TfL consultations could affect bus routes used by south London passengers, with proposals including one route being scrapped, another being extended, a Superloop diversion and journey time changes.

Route 415

The RB Imports Ltd shop at 1056 London Road has applied for permission to sell alcohol for consumption both on and off the premises between 10am and 10pm, seven days a week.

Its owners want to introduce a small selection of Brazilian beers and cachaça alongside its current offerings of fresh meat, frozen foods and other traditional products.

Buses will replace trains to Caterham and Tattenham Corner after approximately 11.55pm from Monday to Thursday.

Other late-night services will also be diverted, terminate early or skip stations, including trains travelling between East Croydon, London Victoria and Watford Junction.

The changes will affect services from Monday, October 12, to Thursday, October 15.

Monday to Thursday (October 12 to 15):

Engineering work between Purley and Caterham and Tattenham Corner will close all lines late each evening.

The work will affect services between London Victoria and destinations across South London and Surrey on Sunday October 11, with some trains diverted, others suspended and additional services running on alternative routes.

Here is what passengers need to know before travelling.

Sunday (October 11):

From approximately 1am until 7am, trains between London Victoria and Three Bridges or Brighton will be diverted between Clapham Junction and East Croydon.

These services will run to an amended timetable, with longer journey times expected.

No trains will run between Balham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction, while the line between Purley and Caterham and Tattenham Corner will also close.

Replacement buses will operate on some affected routes, while several Southern services will be diverted or cut back to different stations.

Sunday (September 27):

Engineering work between Tulse Hill and Sutton will close all lines via Mitcham Junction.

No Southern trains will call at stations between Balham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "An investigation has been launched, and no arrests have been made at this early stage."

Forensic officers have been seen collecting evidence from the ground on the Fern Lodge Estate.

The incident happened on Leigham Court Road in Streatham, south London, shortly after 3pm on September 14.

A man in his 20s was found with injuries and taken to hospital.

Police later confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening.

A large cordon remains in place, with forensic officers examining the area and gathering evidence.
