"Brayan passed away yesterday, June 26, surrounded by friends and his mother, who travelled from Ecuador."

Mr Pachacama was walking home from his girlfriend’s house in the early hours of June 24 when he was struck by a car.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, including London’s Air Ambulance.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to a major trauma centre with a head injury.

The Metropolitan Police said the driver of the car, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He remains in custody.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.08am today, June 24, to reports of a road traffic collision on Streatham High Road, SW16.

"We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, paramedics in fast response cars, an emergency responder, and an incident response officer.

"We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance."
