Streatham shooting - Forensics gather evidence from Fern Lodge Estate

Forensic officers have been seen collecting evidence from the ground on the Fern Lodge Estate.

The incident happened on Leigham Court Road in Streatham, south London, shortly after 3pm on September 14.

A man in his 20s was found with injuries and taken to hospital.

Police later confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening.

A large cordon remains in place, with forensic officers examining the area and gathering evidence.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers attended the scene quickly alongside the London Ambulance Service and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"An investigation has been launched, and no arrests have been made at this early stage.

"Enquiries continue at the scene, and the community will see an increased police presence in the area."

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed it responded with multiple resources, including ambulance crews, a clinical team manager, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, and London’s air ambulance.

An LAS spokesperson said: "We treated a man at the scene before taking him to hospital."

Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward and speak to police.

Police are maintaining a visible presence in the area to reassure the public and support ongoing enquiries.
