Sunnyhill Road Streatham warning as man approaches girl

Schools have issued out a warning to parents following the incident in Sunnyhill Road, Streatham, yesterday (February 5) at around 9.50am.

In a letter sent to parents by the Dunraven Educational Trust, seen by London Now, it is claimed that a Year 6 student was approached by a man on a bike waiting outside a primary school.

It is claimed that he offered her money if she would visit his home.

The girl made her way to school and was unharmed, the Metropolitan Police has said.

The educational trust believes the suspect is White, in his 40s or 50s, with greying hair and a moustache.

He was seen wearing a brown coat and baggy jeans.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “On Thursday, 5 February at around 09:50hrs, a school reported to police that a pupil had been approached by a man in Sunnyhill Road, Streatham that morning.

“The girl made her way to school and was unharmed.

“Officers attended the school and made enquiries. They are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

“No arrests have been made.”
