Southern and Thameslink services disrupted after vehicle strikes bridge - London Now
Description

The collision happened at Tulse Hill on Wednesday, June 10 and disrupted train services.

Southern and Thameslink routes have been particularly affected, with services between London Bridge and Streatham Hill and from St Albans City to Sutton experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes, cancellations, or changes.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "A road vehicle striking a bridge at Tulse Hill means all lines are disrupted."

"You should allow at least an additional 45 minutes to complete your journey today."

No services can currently pass through Tulse Hill, and passengers are being advised to speak to station staff, check information boards, or use online journey planners for the latest updates.

Network Rail will be sending engineers as quickly as possible to check the bridge for any damage, and if it's safe to do so, the route will be reopened.

Passengers waiting on delayed trains between stations are advised to remain onboard, listen to announcements, and speak to staff if needed.

Rail tickets are being accepted at no extra cost on London buses between Sutton and Wimbledon, the London Underground between all London terminals, Southern services via Clapham Junction, South Western Railway via Wimbledon, Thameslink services Norwood Junction, and on Tramlink between Beckenham Junction, East and West Croydon, Mitcham, and Wimbledon.

Passengers may also be entitled to compensation for the disruption and are advised to keep their tickets and note journey details to support any claims.
