We stand with our Jewish Community – Lambeth makes statement after shocking Manchester synagogue attack - Brixton Buzz
Description

We are shocked and appalled at the terror attack at Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester yesterday.

That this happened on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it even more horrific.

In Lambeth, we stand united with our Jewish community in rejecting all forms of violence, terror and hate, including antisemitism.

With this incredibly devastating news, our hearts go out to everyone affected by this appalling terrorism, particularly those who are grieving for the loss of loved ones.

I have reached out and spoken to members of our Jewish community to offer condolences and support on behalf of the people of Lambeth.

I have also sought reassurance from our borough’s Metropolitan Police that security will be stepped up to ensure our Jewish community receives the protection they need.

We are all in shock at this devastating antisemitic attack. But we are determined to remain steadfast and united in Lambeth, to face down those who seek to divide and harm us.
