Thames Water confirmed the issue stemmed from burst water pipes on Knights Hill in the SE27 area, which led to disruption in nearby postcodes and left taps running dry. A spokesman for Thames Water said: "We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, so we’ll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can. "We’re on site working to fix the broken pipes in Knights Hill, SE27. "These have unfortunately been affecting the supply to customers in the SE19, SE27 & SW16 postal code areas also. "Apologies if you're affected." To manage the outage and reduce disruption, Thames Water began redirecting water within the network to maintain supply for as many customers as possible while repair work was underway. The company’s teams arrived at the scene early to begin fixing the damaged section of pipework and restore full service. Bottled water was delivered to individuals listed on Thames Water's Priority Services Register who were without supply, with the company assuring vulnerable customers that support would continue until repairs were completed. The spokesman said: "If you're on our Priority Services Register we're already delivering bottled water to those we know are affected." Once water returns to affected properties, residents have been advised they may notice some discolouration, described by Thames Water as normal following this type of repair. Customers are being encouraged to refer to the company’s After an Incident Guide for further information on how to deal with temporary water issues. Thames Water has thanked residents for their patience and emphasised that teams are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore normal service. The spokesman said: "Our teams are working as quickly and safely as possible to complete the repairs and restore normal service. "To help minimise disruption, we're moving water around the network to keep the majority of customers in supply while we carry out the repair." The company has pledged to provide regular updates as repairs progress. Web Link Burst pipes leave hundreds of south east London homes without water - London Now London Now
