Technical issues with traffic cameras spark major disruption

Both the Blackwall and Rotherhithe tunnels are reporting heavy congestion due to technical issues with traffic cameras.

According to the AA, the northbound Blackwall Tunnel, from Greenwich to Poplar, are facing severe delays due to early morning closures.

A young man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed near a Starbucks on a busy high street in south London.

Emergency services rushed to Streatham Hill at around 1pm on Monday following reports of a stabbing.

A man in his 20s was treated at the scene for a stab wound and the Met Police confirmed his injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening.

Footage from the incident appeared to show someone being treated by paramedics on the busy street.

One witness told the Standard they were left feeling “really uneasy and scared” following the attack.

The family of Chris Kaba said they are expecting news in the coming weeks on both the inquest into his death and misconduct proceedings involving the officer who shot him.

Mr Kaba, 24, was a member of one of London’s most violent street gangs and was fatally shot after trying to ram his way past police cars in Streatham, south-east London, in September 2022.

His family marked the three-year anniversary of his death on September 5 with a private vigil.

Police responding a serious incident have cordoned off huge swathes of a north-east London high street.

Residents report hearing gunshots near the A10 in Hackney around 1am on Tuesday.

Stoke Newington High Street is closed between Amhurst Road and Kynaston Avenue.

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
