Streatham sealed a treble of trophies with a 10-1 victory over Oxford City Stars in the Britton Cup on Sunday, writes Christopher Beal.

With the Slough Jets defeating the Chelmsford Chieftains the night before, all Streatham needed was two points to secure the trophy.

The South Londoners were 5-0 up by the end of the first period.

Josh Martin sealed his return to home ice after his long suspension was overturned with the opening goal. Jared Lane, Ziggy Beesley, Ryan Watt and Ben Paynter added to the scoring.

South London singer-songwriter Raye has equallsed the record for winning the most Brits in one year.

Following Saturday’s awards night, the 26-year-old Croydon girl has equalled the career total of David Bowie, Michael Jackson and Oasis.

Raye – whose real name is Rachel Keen – collected Artist, Album, Song and Songwriter of the year, as well as Best new artist and Best R&B act.

Streatham added the Southern Cup to the NIHL 1 South title after a 3-1 aggregate win over Slough Jets at the weekend, writes Christopher Beal.

The South Londoners won 2-1 on the road on Saturday night, responding after Seb Mohr had put Jets ahead in the 11th minute.

Ben Ealey-Newman levelled on 24 minutes.

He buried the rebound following JJ Pitchley’s forward charge and shot.

Streatham went in front 44 seconds into the third period. Jared Lane and Tomasz Skokan set up Ziggy Beesley to finish.

A man and a woman will appear in Bromley Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday) charged with murder.

Mayara Loiola Ataide, 34, and Gevaldo Tavares Dos Santos, 46, both of no fixed address, were charged with murder on Wednesday.

They were also charged with two counts of arson with intent to endanger life.

Police launched an investigation after being called to the multi-occupancy house in Glenister Park Road, Streatham, by the London Fire Brigade, shortly after 7pm on Sunday.

A murder investigation is under way following the death of a man in a house fire in Streatham.

Police were called to the multi-occupancy house in Glenister Park Road by the London Fire Brigade at just after 7pm on Sunday.

A 49-year-old man was found dead inside the property. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers.

The fire is thought to have been started deliberately and is being treated as suspicious. Further enquiries are taking place.

Streatham RedHawks secured an historic fourth NIHL 1 South league title in a row after defeating Romford Buccaneers 4-1 on Sunday night, writes Christopher Beal.

Streatham have booked a return to the national play-off final in April, against the winners of the northern section.

Buccaneers netminder Sonny Phillips and his defence endured a storm of shots in the first period, with Streatham possibly feeling the effects of a hard-fought 3-0-win in Slough the night before.

Streatham only require two points from their remaining five games to seal a fourth NIHL 1 South title in a row, writes Christopher Beal.

The South Londoners came away with a single point from Saturday’s 3-2 overtime home loss to Slough Jets.

Streatham took a 2-0 lead in the opening period of the game through Ben Ealey-Newman and Ziggy Beesley. JJ Pitchley had his face busted open in a collision with a Jets player, leading to him making a trip to A&E for treatment.
