Streatham completed a four-point weekend after they defeated Solent Devils 3-0 at the High Road on Sunday, writes Christopher Beal.

Streatham were severely short benched with Josh Ealey Newman, JJ Pitchley and Brandon Miles all sitting out between four to six-game suspensions for the brawl the previous weekend against Invicta Dynamos.

Nate Gregory has been suspended for 12 games for his role and Josh Martin has been hit with a 20-game suspension for the check from behind in the opening minutes of that game.

Streatham will have to await a decision from the EIHL after Invicta Dynamos refused to finish Saturday’s Challenge Cup tie after a mass brawl at the end of the first period, writes Christopher Beal.

The visitors refused to return to the ice citing safety grounds and under league rules a forfeit would normally mean a 5-0 win to the South Londoners.

The tone for the game and the lead up to the events had been set in the opening minute as Josh Martin was ejected for a check from behind on a Dynamos player, putting Streatham on a five-minute penalty kill.

Streatham started 2024 with a statement of intent ahead of the championship run in with a 10-1 win over Oxford City Stars on the High Road Sunday.

It took the RedHawks just four minutes to open the scoring, after a series of fantastic saves by Stars netminder Ross Miller.

A penalty shot was called as a clear scoring chance was impeded in front of the net. Returning team captain Ryan Watt stepped up to bury the oppourtunity.

Try out the ice at this Olympic-sized rink this festive season, writes Claudia Lee.

Streatham’s rink in Streatham High Road, Streatham, was first opened in 1931.

Measuring 60 by 30 metres, this huge facility ran for 80 years before getting a much-needed renovation in 2013.

All ages welcome.

It’s part of the Better Leisure Centre group, so you’ll need to download the Streatham Ice and Leisure app to pre-book a public skating session.

Network Rail has completed a £5million upgrade of Streatham railway station, providing passengers with step-free access to all of the station’s platforms.

Two lifts, to connect the ticket office with the platforms, have finished construction, enabling passengers with impaired mobility or those travelling with luggage, children or bicycles with step-free access to the platforms

Homegrown talent Harvey Briggs netted the opening goal on Saturday – and his first at the High Road – after 12 minutes with Luke Brittle and Ziggy Beesley providing the set-up play.

Streatham struggled to a 4-2 win over NIHL 1 title rivals Slough Jets on Sunday as they got their Britton Cup campaign off to successful start, writes Christopher Beal.

The RedHawks are carrying a lot of injuries but were buoyed by the announcement of the return of Jared Lane to the squad after a brief break from the sport.

Slough were forced to change netminders as Brett Massey made way for Ruari McGibbon in the fifth minute.
