A man was tragically pronounced dead after being struck by a train on the tracks at Wimbledon Station, South London, on Monday afternoon. Emergency services rushed to the scene near The Broadway at around 2.25pm following reports of the incident.

Major Emergency Response Launched

Transport for London described the event as a ‘customer incident’ that brought Thameslink services between Streatham and Sutton to a grinding halt. Meanwhile, South Western Railway services also faced delays as rescue efforts unfolded.

Miguel Escorio was last seen in the Walderslade Road area of Chatham at around 1.45pm on Friday 12 July 2024. He is believed to have boarded a bus towards the town centre.

He is described as around six feet tall, with short dark brown hair, brown eyes and slim build. He is believed to be wearing black trousers, a black polo shirt and black trainers. He was carrying a ‘JD Sports’ bag which maybe yellow or white in colour. Inside the bag was a white fleece.

He has both ears pierced and sometimes wears glasses.

Chris Kaba, in his twenties, was identified as the victim of the armed police shooting in Streatham by distraught friends.

The Drill artist, who is thought to be in his twenties, was shot near 10 p.m. on Monday in Kirsktall Gardens in Streatham Hill after a “tactical contact” to stop his suspect vehicle.

A man is set to appear in court charged with murder after a stabbing incident in Wembley.

Derek Brown, aged 72 and residing at Cromwell Road, Wembley, appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 23 March. He faces charges of murder, section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Brown has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 26 March.

A man who followed an elderly woman leaving a bank before dragging her to the ground to steal her handbag full of cash has been jailed. Moses Blackwood, 22, of Sunnyhill Road, Lambeth, was sentenced to four years and eight months’ imprisonment at Croydon Crown Court on Wednesday, 15 August for robbery and assault with intent to commit robbery. The court heard that at around 1.45pm on 14 February two women – a mother, 84, and her daughter 52 – were inside a bank on Streatham High Road, Lambeth. Blackwood watched the mother withdraw £5,000 and divide the cash between the two women.

On Monday, September 5th, at 9.51pm, specialist firearms officers were pursuing a suspect vehicle in the Lambeth area.

The vehicle was stopped following tactical contact in Kirkstall Gardens, Streatham Hill.

A police officer’s firearm was discharged.

A gunshot wound was sustained by an occupant of the suspect vehicle, a man in his 30s.
