A man has been hospitalised following a stabbing in the early hours of the morning on Streatham High Road, South London. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 4:10am on Tuesday, December 24.

Emergency Response

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended the incident, where they found a man suffering from stab wounds. He was treated on-site before being rushed to a London major trauma center as a priority.

An LAS spokesperson confirmed the quick response:

A person was struck by a train at Streatham Common station in South London on the afternoon of Thursday, November 7, leading to significant disruptions in the rail network. National Rail reported that all lines and stations in the vicinity were closed, affecting Southern and Gatwick Express services. Passengers experienced delays, revisions, or cancellations into the evening, with severe delays anticipated for several hours. Some travellers were stranded on trains between stations as services were halted to allow emergency personnel to attend the scene.

The trial of Metropolitan Police firearms officer Martyn Blake, charged with the murder of Chris Kaba, will begin today at the Old Bailey. The proceedings are set to start at 10:30 a.m. on October 2, 2024, and are expected to last for three weeks.

Chris Kaba, a 24-year-old, was fatally shot by Blake on September 5, 2022, in Streatham, South London. Following an investigation, the Crown Prosecution Service announced the charges on September 20, 2023. Blake, now 40, was identified after an anonymity order was lifted earlier this year.
