Sick satanic neo-Nazi group linked to horror crimes in the UK - The Mirror
Description

A former Brit school actor who claimed to have made a pact with a 'red-horned devil' is only the latest product of a terrifying satanic neo-Nazi group convicted of horror crimes in Britain and around the world.

Declan George Candiani, 26, was stopped by counter-terrorism police at Stansted Airport as he attempted to go on holiday to Finland with his girlfriend in August last year.

On seeing the contents of his phone, officers arrested him and searched the home he shared with his mum in Streatham, south-west London. An examination of his devices revealed a huge cache of extremist content which included "manifestos" of mass killers - and material linked to the satanist group Order of Nine Angles (O9A).

Since its beginnings as an obscure sect in 1970s, the O9A has grown into a loose extremist network with adherents across the globe, combining neo-Nazi beliefs about racial superiority with bizarre occult and satanic imagery. Famous serial killers, such as Moors Murderer Ian Brady, are often idolised by members who praise their commitment to violence.

O9A followers believe that racial equality, human rights, democracy, are 'unnatural forces' that prevent the Aryan race from taking over the world - and eventually outer space - and must therefore be destroyed through rituals, sexual abuse, and activities designed to spark disorder.

Here are five criminals found to have connections to Order of Nine Angles:

Declan George Candiani

In his deep descent into neo-Nazi and occult extremism last year, 26-year-old Declan George Candiani tattooed his body with Adolf Hitler symbols, began watching programmes about mass shootings, and downloaded a DIY instruction guide for making a sheet metal firearm.

One of the documents found on his devices, 21 Silent Techniques of Killing, gave detailed instructions on how to carry out a close contact “assassination” with a spike, knife and nunchucks.

In a police interview after being stopped under counter-terrorism legislation at Stansted Airport, Candiani claimed he had downloaded material after becoming interested in the Order of Nine Angles.

Giving evidence in court, Candiani described being visited by a "red-horned devil" in his bedroom who told him: “You see me now Declan, you worship me.” He told jurors he agreed to be his "minion", saying: "I did literally make a pact with the devil."

Candiani was found guilty in October of two charges of collection of information likely to be useful for terrorism and acquitted of two similar offences. He was sentenced to 23 months’ imprisonment plus a year on licence for one charge, and to 10 months’ imprisonment with a year on licence for the second. They are to be served concurrently.

Vincent Charlton

Vincent Charlton, from Birtley, Gateshead, was aged 17 when he was sentenced to two years and four months in prison back in 2023 for terrorism offences and having videos of a girl cutting his name into her body.

On his phone, police found the footage of the 13-year-old girl from the US committing self-harm, and messages which demonstrated the "control Vincent exerted over a vulnerable young child which caused her to harm herself and send images of that harm to him."

He also promoted Order of the Nine Angles online, and was found to be a member of a Telegram group connected to the O9A splinter group 764. Charlton uploaded 939 documents to one online chatroom, including bomb-making manuals, and responded "of course" when asked by another member whether he was going to blow up a school.

Richard Densmore

O9A and 764 member Richard Densmore, from Kaleva, Michigan, was sentenced to 30 years in prison in the US last year for sexually exploiting a child.

The FBI said Densmore, 47, known in online circles as 'Rabid', became notorious in the 764 network by creating online 'Sewer' communities on chatroom website Discord where members recruited children and encouraged them to cut themselves and engage in graphic sexual acts. Densmore advertised livestreams of children engaging in self-mutilation - known as 'cutshows' - and encouraged them to take part in sex acts on camera.

He threatened victims to cut themselves by telling them "I have all your information. I own you... you do what I say now kitten", with images uncovered by detectives showing bloody images of "Rabid", "Sewer", and "764" carved into victims' limbs.

Alan Filion

In February, 18-year-old Alan Filion was sentenced 48 months in prison for making hundreds of threatening phonecalls and hoax bomb threats.

His calls targeted religious institutions, high schools, colleges and universities, government officials, and individuals across the US, and on multiple occasions triggered huge police and emergency services responses that wasted valuable resources.

In January last year, Filion was arrested in California on Florida state charges after telling a place of worship he was about to commit "a mass shooting" and "kill everyone" he saw. After an FBI and Secret Service investigation, he pleaded guilty in federal court to making the threat along with three other threatening calls.

Brandon Alonso

In November 2024, 17-year-old student Brandon Alonso livestreamed a brutal hammer attack on classmates at San Andrés Preparatory School, Jalisco, Mexico. Detectives found posts on his social media pledging allegiance to the Order of Nine Angles, including a series of satanic blood pacts, along with neo-Nazi content.
