Why are there no trains from New Cross Gate to West Croydon

Night services between New Cross Gate and West Croydon will be suspended from Monday, February 16 to Friday, February 20 due to the works.

London Overground trains will be affected from around 11.55pm each night, as engineering work is carried out on the Windrush line.

No Overground trains will run between New Cross Gate and West Croydon or Crystal Palace and passengers are advised to check their journey plans in advance.

A spokesperson said: "From approximately 23.55 each evening, no trains will run between New Cross Gate and West Croydon/Crystal Palace."

Affected bus routes include the 171 between New Cross Gate and Brockley and the P4 between Brockley and Honor Oak Park.

Passengers can also use London Trams between East Croydon and West Croydon.

Southern services will also be disrupted from around 11.30pm on Monday to Wednesday nights.

On Monday to Wednesday nights, the 11.20pm service from London Victoria to London Bridge will run non-stop from Streatham Hill to London Bridge.

A replacement bus will operate from Streatham Hill to London Bridge via Sydenham, stopping at all intermediate stations.

The 11.58pm service from London Bridge to Streatham Hill will not run.

A replacement bus will cover this route via Sydenham, calling at the usual stops.

On Tuesday to Thursday, the 12.01am London Bridge to Selhurst service will depart at 12.04am instead.

The 12.35am London Bridge to East Croydon service will start at 12.37am and run non-stop, calling only at Norwood Junction and East Croydon.

A replacement bus will serve all stations via Sydenham.

On Friday, this same train will depart earlier at 12.31am.

A replacement bus will leave London Bridge at 12.35am, serving all stations to East Croydon via Sydenham.

Passengers are advised to check the National Rail Journey Planner before travelling.
