An 81-year-old Parkrun legend dubbed 'Marvellous Mike' is locked in a £325,000 inheritance fight with his stepkids who want to throw him out of his home.

On 21 October, the police officer Sergeant Martyn Blake was acquitted of the murder of Chris Kaba at the Central Criminal Court. Blake had been charged after taking part in a firearms operation in Streatham on 5 September 2022.

An 81-year-old man who has completed more than 300 Parkruns is locked in a legal row with his two stepchildren who accuse him of trespassing in their mother’s house.

Michael Morfey has been described in court as “Marvellous Mike” as a result of his running prowess.

Residents of Streatham described the not-guilty verdict rendered to the officer who shot Chris Kaba as a “travesty of justice”, while others argued new information on Kaba’s gang affiliation changed their view.

It is half-term week, which for rail passengers means a whole load of disruption to their regular services across south London.
