The London Fire Brigade said part of the loft was alight, and seven people managed to leave the building before crews arrived. No injuries have been reported. A 32-metre turntable ladder was used as a water tower to help extinguish the flames from above. Crews from Tooting, Norbury, West Norwood and nearby stations attended the scene. The fire was brought under control by 7.31pm. The cause is currently under investigation.
