Services on Southern and Gatwick Express routes between Shepherd’s Bush, London Victoria and Balham have been severely affected, with delays, cancellations and alterations while emergency services deal with the incident and lines remain closed.

A number of Southern and Gatwick Express routes to and from London Victoria are being severely disrupted, with many services cancelled or altered.

Train services between Sutton and Clapham Junction have been heavily affected after a signalling fault was reported in the Streatham area at 8.39am on Monday, March 16.

The fault is expected to cause disruption until the end of the day, with cancellations, delays and diversions across the network, reports our sister title London Now.

Southern services are unable to run as scheduled in both directions, and trains between Horsham, Dorking, and London Victoria are being diverted via West Croydon and Selhurst.

TfL has officially confirmed it will proceed with introducing the new SL15 Superloop route between Clapham Junction and Eltham, following a public consultation held in late 2025.

The online consultation received 1,897 responses, the majority of which came from members of the public and showed strong support for the proposal, with many respondents welcoming the improved east–west connectivity the route would bring across south London.

Changes and alterations to the route

This is due to engineering work and will affect trains on Sunday (March 15).

Trains will run normal on Saturday (March 14).

Sunday (March 15):

All day on Sunday, no trains will run between West Croydon and Epsom Downs or between Streatham and Sutton and Epsom via Mitcham Junction.

Replacement buses will run between West Croydon and Epsom Downs via Sutton.
