Why are there no trains from New Cross Gate to West Croydon

Night services between New Cross Gate and West Croydon will be suspended from Monday, February 16 to Friday, February 20 due to the works.

London Overground trains will be affected from around 11.55pm each night, as engineering work is carried out on the Windrush line.

No Overground trains will run between New Cross Gate and West Croydon or Crystal Palace and passengers are advised to check their journey plans in advance.

A spokesperson said: "From approximately 23.55 each evening, no trains will run between New Cross Gate and West Croydon/Crystal Palace."

Croydon Southern trains cancelled this February half term

This is due to engineering work and will affect trains from Monday to Friday (February 16 to February 20).

Monday to Wednesday (February 16 to February 18):

The 11.20pm trains from London Victoria to London Bridge will run non-stop from Streatham Hill to London Bridge.

A replacement bus will run from Streatham Hill to London Bridge, calling at intermediate stations via Sydenham.

The 11.58pm train from London Bridge to Streatham Hill will not run.

No Southern trains running to and from Victoria this weekend

These works will affect trains on Sunday (February 15) only.

Trains will run as normal on Saturday (February 14)

Sunday (February 15):

No Southern trains will run to and from London Victoria.

Rail replacement buses will operate between Clapham Junction and Streatham Common, calling at Wandsworth Common and Balham.

Trains between London Bridge and London Victoria via Crystal Palace will not run.

TfL London bus changes in place on Valentine's weekend

Route 109

A revised temporary timetable will be introduced, with buses running every seven minutes during the day from Monday to Saturday.

Evening and Sunday services will return to their standard 10-minute intervals.

The changes are due to roadworks on Streatham High Road.

Route 111

This route will see buses running every 10 to 11 minutes during the day from Monday to Saturday.

Evening and Sunday services will run every 12 to 13 minutes.

The changes are due to roadworks on the Great West Road.

A23 Streatham Hill roadworks to continue until 2027

Transport for London (TfL) is delivering a new road layout on the A23 Streatham Hill, expected to continue until spring 2027.

The project aims to create a safer and more reliable road for all users, with protected cycle lanes, dedicated bus lanes in both directions and improvements for pedestrians.

Lane restrictions are currently in place in both directions between Holmewood Road on A23 Brixton Hill and Sternhold Avenue on A23 Streatham Hill.

Changes to nearby roads and junctions may cause delays, especially for northbound traffic.

Sunnyhill Road Streatham warning as man approaches girl

Schools have issued out a warning to parents following the incident in Sunnyhill Road, Streatham, yesterday (February 5) at around 9.50am.

In a letter sent to parents by the Dunraven Educational Trust, seen by London Now, it is claimed that a Year 6 student was approached by a man on a bike waiting outside a primary school.

It is claimed that he offered her money if she would visit his home.

The girl made her way to school and was unharmed, the Metropolitan Police has said.

Streatham school praised by Ofsted but urged to improve

E-ACT City Heights Academy in Streatham met expected standards for attendance, behaviour, leadership, and pupil wellbeing during its most recent inspection.

The report, published under Ofsted’s new multi-category grading system, described the school as having a “supportive and nurturing environment” and an “open and positive culture of safeguarding.”

Inspectors found pupils “want to attend” the school and noted a recent decline in suspensions.

The report said: "The school celebrates diversity.

Southern engineering works affect late-night London services

Limited routes and cancellations are affecting journeys due to ongoing engineering works between London Victoria and Streatham Hill, which began earlier this week and are scheduled to continue through tonight, Thursday, February 5.

Services between London Victoria and Epsom Downs, as well as Watford Junction and East Croydon, are impacted.

Southern has issued a notice stating: "Engineering work is taking place overnight between London Victoria and Streatham Hill, closing some lines."

King of Sardinia pub Brixton and Streatham could be updated

The King of Sardinia in Somers Road, between Brixton and Streatham, would have its windows and entrance doors replaced with double-glazed timber windows, like-for-like, with the same configuration (transoms and mullions) as existing.
